Sonia Wesche (she/her) is an Associate Professor in Environmental Studies, Geography and Indigenous Studies at the University of Ottawa. She works collaboratively with Indigenous communities in the Northwest Territories (NWT) and Yukon, and more recently also in Nunavut, to better understand local- and regional-scale vulnerability and capacity to adapt to environmental change. Her interdisciplinary research is primarily community-based, and draws on multiple sources of information, with a focus on Indigenous knowledge and knowledge co-production. She is particularly interested in links among environmental change, Indigenous land and resource use, food and water security, and health and well-being in Indigenous communities.
